AFLIT - An Effective Approach to Literacy Instruction: A New Intervention Program for Helping Children Struggling with Literacy.
Carter, Rose Ellen
Journal of Reading Education, v26 n3 p17-21 Spr 2001
Presents a literacy intervention program driven by an affective component which addresses the emotional and social needs of children exhibiting difficulty acquiring literacy skills. Notes that Affective Literacy Instruction (AFLIT) is based upon the premise that many children who have experienced failure are very likely to also experience a reticence to take risks that might endanger their self-esteem.
