Investigates the role of prior academic training in multicultural counseling and interdependent and independent self-construals in predicting self-reported multicultural counseling competence in school counselors. School counselors (N=156) from the New York City area completed the survey. Results showed that the number of previous multicultural counseling courses taken was significantly predictive of self-reported multicultural counseling competence. (JDM)
