Parenting Practices and Child Social Adjustment: Multiple Pathways of Influence.
Domitrovich, Celene E.; Bierman, Karen L.
Merrill-Palmer Quarterly, v47 n2 p235-63 Apr 2001
Explored pathways of influence linking parenting practices, child perceptions of their parents and peers, and social adjustment. Found parenting practices were related to peer- reported social behavior, peer dislike, and child social problem solving. Children's perceptions of parenting experiences were related to their social problem solving and reported social distress. Findings pose implications for child social development. (Author/SD)
