Clustered and Nonclustered First-Year Seminars: New Students' First-Semester Experiences.
Crissman, Jennifer L.
Journal of the First-Year Experience & Students in Transition, v13 n1 p69-88 Spr 2001
Used focus group interviews to compare the first-semester experiences of students clustered for both their first-year seminar and English composition class and students taking only their first-year seminar together. Found that clustered students were more satisfied with the seminar, experienced greater peer support, enjoyed better relationships with faculty, and had more out-of-class contact with faculty. (EV)
