Experiences from six European projects suggest that adult and continuing education (ACE) differs from mainstream university provision in several ways: (1) definition of university ACE; (2) different organization; (3) needs of internal and external clients; and (4) emphasis on project over course work. Quality considerations include motivation for quality projects, aims and objectives, and choice of quality models. (SK)
