Mentors' Perceptions of Their Roles in School-based Teacher Training in England and Germany.
Jones, Marion
Journal of Education for Teaching, v27 n1 p75-94 Apr 2001
Examined German and English mentor teachers' beliefs about their role in school-based teacher training, noting the influence of cultural and structural frameworks. Survey and interview data indicated that structural and cultural factors influenced mentors, who perceived various aspects of their roles differently, yet showed convergence in certain interpretations (e.g., that their main role was as the trainee's advisor).
