Critiques current research on developmental neuroscience presented in media accounts of early brain development (e.g., scientific understandings of early formative experiences, brain development as a lifelong process, and biological hazards to early brain growth). Makes recommendations for strengthening the constructive contributions of research scientists and professional organizations to the accurate media coverage of scientific issues. (SM)
