How Do Student Ratings Measure Up to a New Validity Framework?
Ory, John C.; Ryan, Katherine
New Directions for Institutional Research, v27 n5 p27-44 Spr 2001
Examines student ratings of teacher effectiveness within a new framework that emphasizes six distinct aspects of validity: content, substantive, structural, generalizability, external, and consequential. Concludes that greater attention should be directed toward consequential validity, particularly how ratings are used on today's campuses and what happens as a result. (EV)
