This article analyzes some of the difficulties that occurred during the process of extending the activities of a successful program for middle-class Brazilian gifted students to a low-income population. It presents some preliminary results of a study that highlights the problems related to the use of traditional evaluation procedures. (Contains seven references.) (Author/CR)
