Bad Body Fever and Deliberate Self-Injury.

A generation ago, self mutilation behavior was mostly confined to individuals in programs dealing with serious retardation or psychosis. Now it has achieved epidemic proportions, and perhaps nine out of ten self-mutilators are female. This article examines the variety of potential causes for this behavior and provides practical suggestions for intervention. (Author/MKA)
