Surveyed college students to identify patterns of tobacco use and participation in scholastic and college sports, grouping respondents as current college athletes, college students who had been high school athletes only, and college students who had not been athletes. Both athlete groups indicated higher rates of smokeless tobacco use than nonathletes. No significant differences were found for cigarette smoking. (SM)
