Argues that rather being a victim of the "end of knowledge" in higher education, the university now has new knowledge functions: to add to the supercomplexity of the modern world by offering completely new frames of understanding, to help people comprehend and make sense of the knowledge mayhem, and to enable people to live purposefully amid supercomplexity.
