Impact of Length of Unemployment and Age on Jobless Men and Women: A Comparative Analysis.
Kulik, Liat
Journal of Employment Counseling, v38 n1 p15-27 Mar 2001
Examines differences in job search intensity and attitudes toward unemployment among 559 jobless Israelis. Findings reveal that job search intensity, psychological stress, and work centrality were highest among participants who had been unemployed for two to three months, and gradually declined for longer periods of unemployment. Middle-aged participants spent more hours per week searching for jobs than younger groups. (Contains 43 references and 1 table.) (Author/GCP)
