Surveys alumni and program directors to determine relationship between participation in internship and success in graduate school for students served by the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program. Internship rigor was positively related to success in graduate school as measured by placement, secured funding, and completion. Three elements (preparation; presentation; publication) were key to a successful undergraduate research experience. (Author/JDM)
