The Need for Specialist Training in the Education of Deaf Children in Greece: Listening to Teachers' Perceptions.

Explored Greek teachers' views on the role of teacher training for those involved in educating deaf children. Interview results indicated that teachers did not have appropriate preservice or inservice training for working effectively with deaf students they were being asked to serve. They considered their job difficult, felt insecure and unsupported, and doubted their ability to communicate with deaf students. (SM)
