Gender Differences in Spatial Task Performance as a Function of Speed or Accuracy Orientation.
Scali, Robyn M.; Brownlow, Sheila; Hicks, Jennifer L.
Sex Roles: A Journal of Research, v43 n5-6 p359-76 Sep 2000
Investigated differences in spatial task function by gender, noting whether emphasizing speed or accuracy would influence performance in various spatial domains. College students completed tasks of spatial perception, spatial visualization, and mental rotation under speed-emphasis, accuracy-emphasis, or control conditions. Results revealed gender differences in mental rotation ability under certain conditions. Speed/accuracy orientation did not alter these findings. (SM)
