A Model of Success: The Office of AHANA Student Programs at Boston College.
Brown, Donald
Equity & Excellence in Education, v33 n3 p49-51 Dec 2000
Describes Boston College's successful six-week summer program, "Options Through Education--Transitional Summer Program" (OTE) and its academic year follow-up program, which assists AHANA (African American, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American) students to successfully negotiate the university. Although the program's target students enter with below-average SAT scores and as first-generation college students, the retention rate is above 90 percent. (EV)
