The Power of Perception: Toward a Model of Cultural Oppression and Liberation.
Hanna, Fred J.; Talley, William B.; Guindon, Mary H.
Journal of Counseling & Development, v78 n4 p430-41 Fall 2000
An exploratory transcultural model of counseling based on oppression is introduced with the goal of serving both the oppressed and the oppressive client. Suggests that oppressed persons generally possess a considerable degree of perception of their oppressors even though they may be unaware of it. Counseling approaches for both oppressed persons and oppressors are discussed. (Author/MKA)
