Argues that the agency/structure dichotomy that predominates in racism discourse is problematic because it obscures how racism is produced and resisted at the local sites of relations between individuals and between individuals and institutions. Resistance to racism requires a recognition of racism's local character. Consequently, educators, particularly in classrooms, play important roles in resistance practices. (VWC)
