Changes in Preservice Teachers' Knowledge and Beliefs about Language Issues.
Torok, Camille E.; Aguilar, Teresita E.
Equity & Excellence in Education, v33 n2 p24-31 Sep 2000
Examined how predominantly female, white preservice teachers' knowledge and beliefs about language issues changed after an intensive multicultural education course. Data from surveys and course assignments indicated that students made significant gains in three areas: personal beliefs about diversity; professional beliefs about diversity; and multicultural education knowledge. There were also significant gains in language beliefs and knowledge about language issues. (SM)
