Presents an analysis of an international teaching assistants (IGTAs) workshop. Analysis and evaluation of the workshop used five social difficulty variables: language, age, academic classification, cultural similarity, and friendship communication network. Findings reveal that the workshop was effective in providing a good foundation toward cultural adaptation into the host culture's classrooms and social interactions outside the classrooms.
