"I Believe in Inclusion, But...": Regular Education Early Childhood Teachers' Perceptions of Successful Inclusion.
Smith, Mary K.; Smith, Kenneth
Journal of Research in Childhood Education, v14 n2 p161-80 Spr-Sum 2000
Identified kindergarten through third grade teachers' perceptions of factors related to success of inclusive classrooms. Found that teachers shared a strong belief in the fundamental value of inclusion. Themes affecting perceptions indicated a need for more adequate and focused training, better consideration of classroom load factors, more reliable support, and more time to meet increased planning and collaborative demands.
