Person-Fit and the Rasch Model: How Seriously Model Fit Is Affected by Appropriateness Measurements in the Rasch Model.
Engec, Necati
Research in the Schools, v6 n2 p63-74 Fall 1999
Studied the impact of aberrant response behaviors, such as guessing, sleeping, and cheating, on ability parameter estimates in the Rasch model. Results from a mathematics test administered to 5,200 fourth and sixth graders indicate that the invariance properties of the Rasch model ability estimates increase when person-fit statistics are larger than zero. Discusses implications for test construction. (SLD)
