The Access program is intended to help groups such as Canada Natives enroll and succeed in postsecondary education. Key aspects are recruitment, selection, integrated student support, financial support, academic remediation, and personal support. In 1994, 40% of 2,400 Access students graduated, compared to an estimated 5% of aboriginal students who enrolled through normal channels. (SK)
