Using Video Vignettes To Evaluate Children's Personal Safety Knowledge: Methodological and Ethical Issues.
Johnson, Bruce
Child Abuse & Neglect: The International Journal, v24 n6 p811-827 Jun 2000
This study evaluated the use of video-delivered simulations of child maltreatment as a mean of probing the personal safety knowledge of young children. It was concluded that such an approach is methodologically difficult and ethically problematic and controversial. Concerns about possible harm to participants and difficulties in obtaining "informed consent" from parents are raised. (Contains references.) (DB)
