Gender Differences in Sexual Practices and Beliefs among Rural Injection Drug Users in Treatment.
Zagumny, Matthew J.; Holt, Tamala Ray
Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education, v44 n2 p1-11 Win 1999
Survey examines gender differences in sexual practices and beliefs about condom use among rural injecting drug users admitted to treatment programs. Results indicate that Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome knowledge was extremely limited for both males and females in this sample, suggesting that basic HIV/AIDS education must be an early and significant part of the treatment process.
