Counselors' Beliefs about Ritual Abuse: An Australian Study.
Schmuttermaier, John; Veno, Arthur
Journal of Child Sexual Abuse, v8 n3 p45-63 1999
Study reports that workers from the Center Against Sexual Assault were more likely to believe their client's ritual abuse and marginally more likely to identify ritual abuse cases than other therapists. Suggests that religious beliefs had no relationship to the identification of ritual abuse. Concludes that training in recognition and treatment of sexual abuse was positively related to the identification of ritual abuse cases. (Author/JDM)
