Principles of teaching through the arts include the following: (1) outcomes should not change because teaching or assessment is nontraditional; (2) all possible arts and intelligences must be included; (3) teaching through the arts supports learning through the arts; (4) infusing the arts fosters understanding in "traditional" subjects; and (5) assessment must fit the mode of presentation.
