Limitations or Liberation: An Investigation into the Benefits of a Master's Degree in Africana Studies.
Dawson, Nancy
Western Journal of Black Studies, v23 n3 p168-81 Fall 1999
Explores the benefits of a master's degree in Africana Studies. Data from narratives and surveys of African and European-American program graduates indicate that both groups benefitted from the program regarding employability. The program provided information they used daily for handling racial conflicts, child rearing, educational research, and everyday life. Many respondents' families and friends questioned their choice of majors. (SM)
