Forgasz, Helen J.; Leder, Gilah C.
International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, v31 n1 p37-42 Jan-Feb 2000
Focuses on one potential source of influence on students' perceptions of a tertiary mathematics learning environment. Discusses data from two large-scale surveys (N=1883) and from smaller number of interviews (N=71) with students enrolled in tertiary mathematics courses at five Australian universities. Reveals considerable variations in the quality of teaching and student support available in different mathematics departments. (Contains 12 references.) (Author/ASK)
