Sellers, Nancy; Satcher, Jamie; Comas, Robert
Professional School Counseling, v2 n4 p314-17 Apr 1999
Questionnaire given to third and fourth graders in a Southeast school system. Findings support previous research that indicated children tend to select occupations that are gender stereotyped. Also, elementary school children do not have a sense of themselves as masculine or feminine but they do select occupations along gender lines. Suggests guidance activities be designed to promote gender-free occupational choices. (Author/JDM)
