Steering an Academic Department through a Paradigm Shift: The Case of a New Paradigm for Nursing.

A three-phase process was used to develop a new paradigm for nursing education: (1) shedding light--illuminating what is and what could be; (2) restructuring--breaking down current beliefs, norms, and behaviors and developing new ones; and (3) growth--establishing the new paradigm and reconstructing the curriculum in line with it.
