Used confirmatory factor analysis to assess the fit of the original solution of the Student's Perception of Teaching Effectiveness questionnaire (C. Burdsal and J. Bardo, 1986) to a sample of more than 7,000 university classes. Analyses provide a clear interpretation of six first-order and two second-order dimensions of instructional quality. (SLD)
