A survey of 226 practicing teachers in Michigan revealed that these teachers talked frequently with their colleagues about educational issues (instructional methods, helping strategies, and assessment effects) and administrative and policy issues. Providing systematic opportunities for teacher talk would foster professional development and facilitate school improvement. Contains 14 references. (MLH)
