The Use of Developmental Research Methods To Design Culturally Competent Intervention.
Yoshioka, Marianne R.
Journal of Multicultural Social Work, v7 n3-4 p113-28 1999
To design culturally competent interventions, the tasks associated with cross-cultural social work practice can be integrated into the four phases of developmental research: problem analysis, information gathering and synthesis, intervention design, and development. Examples are presented from the design and development of an HIV-prevention intervention for low-income, battered women. Contains 26 references. (Author/CDS)
