Letting French Students Hear the Diverse Voices of Francophony [and] Quebec French: A Canadian Response.
Auger, Julie; Valdman, Albert; Dickinson, Barbara
Modern Language Journal, v83 n3 p403-16 Aut 1999
Two articles respond to Salien's editorial "Quebec French: Attitudes and Pedagogical Perspectives." The first deals with linguistic variation, particularly as it exists in Quebec French, and aims at familiarizing French students in the United States with variation in the language. The second describes circumstances that have led to acceptance of Quebec French and corrects some of Salien's misconceptions. (Author/VWL)
