Second Chances: Improving Decoding Skills in the Older Student.

Presents the case of a 29-year-old university student with impairments in decoding skills. Factors that contribute to decoding skills are identified, such as phonological and morphological awareness and use of decoding strategies. The assessment and intervention procedures used are explained. The importance of recognizing the emotional needs of older students with reading impairments is stressed. (DB)
