The Effect of Family Functioning and Family Sense of Competence on People with Mental Illness.
Johnson, Eric D.
Family Relations, v47 n4 p443-51 Oct 1998
Examines the relative influences of family functioning (general) and family members' sense of competence (specific) on the community adaptation of 180 seriously mentally-ill adults. Although both variables were significantly associated with the ill family member's level of adaptation, sense of competence was the more powerful influence. (Author/GCP)
