The Effects of Noncontingent and Contingent Attention for Self-Injury, Manding, and Collateral Responses.
Derby, K. Mark; Fisher, Wayne W.; Piazza, Cathleen C.; Wilke, Arthur E.; Johnson, Whitney
Behavior Modification, v22 n4 p474-84 Oct 1998
Assessed main and collateral effects of the assessment and treatment of attention-maintained self-injury, with regard to four categories of behavior: self-injury, a novel mand, pre-existing prosocial responses, and other aberrant responses. Results suggest that self-injury, prosocial responses, and other abberant behaviors are within the same functional-response class. (Author/EMK)
