Academic Topographies: A Network Analysis of Disciplinarity among Communication Faculty.
White, William J.
Human Communication Research, v25 n4 p604-17 Jun 1999
Examines how theoretical and paradigmatic differences among interdisciplinary faculty are reflected in the ongoing work of a school with departments of communication, journalism, and library and information science. Reveals the presence of two groups of faculty whose members coparticipate more cohesively within themselves than between groups; and that sources of division include departmental structure and research traditions enacted by faculty.
