Nonverbal Communication Expectancies about Teachers and Enrollment Behavior in Distance Learning.
Witt, Paul L.; Wheeless, Lawrence R.
Communication Education, v48 n2 p149-54 Apr 1999
Explores the possible relationship between students' expectations for teacher nonverbal immediacy and their enrollment in a distance-learning course. Finds that distance students expected less nonverbal immediacy from telecourse teachers than on-site students expected of their teachers; and that students with previous distance-learning experience had slightly higher expectancies than those with no experience.
