Masculinity, Vocational Interests, and Career Choice Traditionality: Evidence for a Fully Mediated Model.
Tokar, David M.; Jome, LaRae M.
Journal of Counseling Psychology, v45 n4 p424-35 Oct 1998
Masculine gender roles, traditional vocational interests, and career choice are modeled using structural equations. Participants were 212 students from 51 majors. Two competing models were tested. Results favor a fully mediated model in which masculine gender roles influence vocational interests, which influence the traditionality of career choice for men. (EMK)
