Bridging the Gap.
Miller, Michael S.; Hart, Carol A.
Thrust for Educational Leadership, v28 n1 p22-25 Sep-Oct 1998
In thriving school communities, members form a culture of reciprocal relationships that meet both school and community needs. The Los Alamitos (California) Unified School District opened a parent-paid preschool and an extended-day-care facility at each elementary-school site. Reciprocal relationships can be created via volunteer projects and shared use of school facilities, city parks, and recreation departments. (MLH)
