Sex Differences in Self-Concept and Symptoms of Depression during the Transition to College.
Alfeld-Liro, Corinne; Sigelman, Carol K.
Journal of Youth and Adolescence, v27 n2 p219-44 Apr 1998
In an investigation of sex differences in adaptation to college, real and ideal self-concept and symptoms of depression were studied longitudinally in 287 students at orientation and after their first semester. No sex differences in self-concept were found before college, but males' real self-concept became more positive over the transition. (SLD)
