Transforming Business Communication by Building on Forman's Translation Metaphor.
Sherblom, John C.
Journal of Business Communication, v35 n1 p74-86 Jan 1998
Responds to an article in this issue. Reconceptualizes translation as a bidirectional, dynamically negotiated process that occurs within and between communities of scholars and that transforms the language, the person of the translator, the communities involved, and the cultural expectations. Argues that conception of translation predicts a balance of trade between business communication and other disciplines. (SR)
