Course Evaluations: What Are Social Work Students Telling Us About Teaching Effectiveness?
Jirovec, Ronald L.; Ramanathan, Chathapuram S.; Alvarez, Ann Rosegrant
Journal of Social Work Education, v34 n2 p229-36 Spr-Sum 1998
Study investigated the association between university social-work students' ratings of teaching ability and several course, student, and instructor variables. Analysis of over 5,000 standard evaluation forms indicated strong positive relationships between ratings of teaching effectiveness and ratings of skills, as reflected by course organization, rapport with students, and fair grading. Findings support legitimacy of student ratings in assessing faculty. (Author/MSE)
