Results of the World Hypothesis Scale for 40 nursing students indicated they were more likely to endorse mechanistic (linear, cause-and-effect) rather than contextual (subjective, relational) explanations of behavior. The study of psychology can improve nursing students' contextual critical-thinking skills. (SK)
