Technology in the Classroom: The Role of Dispositions in Teacher Gatekeeping.

Summarizes a study using indepth interviews and observations to explore 10 secondary teachers' perceptions of educational technology and its role in their classrooms. Study data suggested that acceptance of educational technology may not imply a radical shift in educational practices. Although some teachers embraced technology's potential for alternative schooling approaches, others adapted it to bolster traditional, teacher-centered instruction. (57 footnotes) (MLH)
