Let's Get Our Houses in Order: The Role of Transitional Rituals in Constructing Moral Kindergartners.
McCadden, Brian M.
Urban Review, v29 n4 p239-52 Dec 1997
Observations in a public school kindergarten class show how the teacher uses a series of rituals to help the children shed their home roles, make the transition to school roles, and reaggregate as students. The teacher's use of transitional or liminal rituals to construct the moral identity of the role of student is explored. (SLD)
