Nonmetro Multiple Jobholding Rate Higher than Metro.

Current Population Survey data indicate that 7.2% of nonmetropolitan workers and 6.2% of metropolitan workers held two or more jobs concurrently in 1996. Multiple jobholding rates were highest in the lowest and highest earnings quintiles and for whites, college graduates, and ages 45-54. Teachers accounted for the largest number of nonmetro multiple jobholders. (SV)
